LFIR Team

The committed LFIR team includes a director, teachers, assistant teachers, a support team, and a Management Committee representing the Association of Parents.

THE DIRECTOR AND TEACHERS

Sophie WIERRE

LFIR Director and CP/ CE1 Teacher

A graduate of the French Ministry of Education, Sophie has over 20 years’ experience in teaching and more than 5 years as a director. She has taught in mainland France, in the French overseas departments (DOM) an in several French schools abroad. 

A true globetrotter, Sophie joined the LFIR in 2024 as head teacher and CP/ CE1 teacher. She appreciates the cultural diversity of the pupils and the caring, stimulating and learning-friendly environment at LFIR. 

Vincent Leduc

Preschool teacher

A former professional football player, Vincent retrained as a sports teacher and discovered a real passion for education. 

Vincent has taught children from preschool to middle school in various countries including Myanmar, and is very happy to be back in Yangon. 

Vincent’s sense of fun and boundless energy are only matched by the children’s!

Clotilde Michel

Primary school teacher

Clotilde first worked as a researcher in international relations before finding her vocation in teaching.

She has since been a primary school teacher and a teacher of French as a foreign language in several international schools.

At the LFIR, Clotilde is in charge of  grades 1-2. She loves the children’s spontaneity, humour, curiosity and desire to surpass themselves.

Guillaume D’Agaro

Primary school teacher

A school teacher with over 10 years’ experience in several countries, Guillaume joined the LFIR in 2017.

He strives to create a joyful atmosphere where children can learn through experience, respect, initiative and self-confidence.

Excellent in both sports and arts, Guillaume currently also teaches PE and arts to the 6ème (grade 6 / year 7), and runs after-school theatre and sports classes.

May Htet Aung

Kindergarten teacher

May Htet Aung has six years of teaching experience, with three years at the French Institute of Myanmar and three at LFIR.

As a Kindergarten teacher, she helps 2- and 3-year-olds explore new adventures and fosters a fun, creative learning community for children, teachers, and parents.

Alexis WIERRE

College, History, Geography teacher

Alexis Wierre joined LFIR in September 2024, bringing over 20 years of experience in education through sports and coaching.

Passionate about guiding young adults and fostering teamwork, he values LFIR’s supportive environment and is dedicated to shaping students’ futures alongside a committed team.

Moea HUUTI

College, Maths & Technology teacher

Moea HUUTI joined LFIR in September 2024, after spending 12 years in corporate finance in Paris.

With a deep passion for teaching, she began her educational journey at the French Institute and developed a love for mathematics.

Moea is excited to share her expertise in maths and technology while contributing her skills and French culture to the students and the LFIR community.

Tatiana MEIJER

College, Français teacher

Tatiana holds a Master’s in Communications and a Post-Graduate degree in Secondary Teaching for French, with 10 years of experience teaching in the Netherlands and Jordan. 

As LFIR’s Assistant Pedagogical Coordinator for CNED French and Middle School Coordinator, she supports students’ smooth transitions and welcomes new teachers and families to the community.

Laura SAINT-LEGER

College, Science, Physics, Chemistry teacher

Laura, a nurse and sports coach since 2017, brings her expertise in science, healthcare, and fitness to LFIR as a CNED Science Assistant for 6èmes and 5èmes.

Passionate about helping others, she supports the community through teaching, health initiatives, and sports events.

Christina BEITHMAN

English Projects teacher

Christina holds a Bachelor’s in Communication and French Studies and a Master’s in HR, with two years of teaching experience. 

As a first-year Teaching Assistant at LFIR, she supports Project English, Spanish LV2, and Music, fostering engaging and inclusive learning for all students.

Gamone Pwint Nan Khin

English teacher

A passionate and active teacher  with experience in different international schools, Gamone joined the LFIR in 2022.

She teaches English to all levels, from preschool to middle school.

Khine Wai Lwin

Burmese teacher

An experienced and patient teacher of Myanmar and French, Khine has been teaching both languages at the French Institute in Myanmar.

She teaches Myanmar language and culture to all levels, from preschool to middle school.

THE SUPPORT TEAM

Marie-Laure Abel

Secretary

A constant presence at the LFIR since 2009, Marie-Laure has inner knowledge of the school, its history and its vision. She is the first point of contact for families and liaises between all, inside and outside the school.

She is assisted by efficient Wine, an expert in local administration.

Catherine Pirling

Administrative & Financial Director

Catherine recently joined the LFIR, bringing her extensive experience in non-governmental organisations to the school’s department of administration and finance.

She is assisted by conscientious Kywe Kywe.

Kywe Kywe Myint

Finance Comptable

Kywe Kywe Myint, who joined LFIR in 2018, brings expertise in finance and a passion for supporting a vibrant, child-centered environment.

Her skills and dedication make her a key member of the team.

Wine Wutyee Ye

Assistant Secretary

Wine Wutyee Ye joined LFIR in August 2018, bringing over a decade of experience in travel operations.

She loves LFIR’s vibrant environment and, with her organizational skills and warm nature, is an invaluable team member.

Andrea Thazin

Communication Officer

Andrea Thazin joined LFIR in 2024 with a strong marketing and communications background in education.

Her excellent communication skills have contributed to enhancing LFIR’s outreach and engagement.

Moe Oo Aung

Supervisor

Moe Oo Aung joined LFIR in September 2024. As a UFL student, Moe is eager to explore the French education system and gain valuable work experience.

Passionate about personal and professional growth, Moe enjoys being part of LFIR’s vibrant French community.
