The committed LFIR team includes a director, teachers, assistant teachers, a support team, and a Management Committee representing the Association of Parents.
THE DIRECTOR AND TEACHERS
Valérie Legueux
Director and nursery teacher
Valérie has over 25 years of experience in early childhood education in Myanmar, having established her own preschool in 1996. She was recently awarded the prestigious “Academic Palms“ by the French Ministry of Education for services rendered to Education. At the LFIR, Valérie is both the director and a nursery teacher. Valérie is proud of the enthusiastic, energetic and kind people who make up the LFIR team, and of the school’s joyful, peaceful environment.
Vincent Leduc
Preschool teacher
A former professional football player, Vincent retrained as a sports teacher and discovered a real passion for education.
Vincent has taught children from preschool to middle school in various countries including Myanmar, and is very happy to be back in Yangon.
Vincent’s sense of fun and boundless energy are only matched by the children’s!
Clotilde Michel
Primary school teacher
Clotilde first worked as a researcher in international relations before finding her vocation in teaching.
She has since been a primary school teacher and a teacher of French as a foreign language in several international schools.
At the LFIR, Clotilde is in charge of grades 1-2 and also teaches history and geography to the 6ème (grade 6).
She loves the children’s spontaneity, humour, curiosity and desire to surpass themselves.
Guillaume D’Agaro
Primary school teacher
A school teacher with over 10 years’ experience in several countries, Guillaume joined the LFIR in 2017.
He strives to create a joyful atmosphere where children can learn through experience, respect, initiative and self-confidence.
Excellent in both sports and arts, Guillaume currently also teaches PE and arts to the 6ème (grade 6 / year 7), and runs after-school theatre and sports classes.
Nadia Carnal
French teacher
Grade 6 coordinator
Nadia has been working with children and teenagers for over 10 years in various educational and community settings. She joined the LFIR in 2017.
Nadia teaches French as a Foreign Language in preschool and primary, and French as a first language in middle school. She also coordinates the 6ème (grade 6 / year 7) hybrid programme.
Nadia particularly enjoys supporting students in their learning.
Thomas Schaffner
Maths and science teacher
Thomas is an expert in environmental sciences and human geography. His experience training non-specialists, his patience and creativity are all strengths put to good use in his new role at the LFIR, where he teaches maths and sciences to middle-school students according to the CNED curriculum. Thomas enjoys the exchanges with his energetic and curious students, and the rich curriculum.
Gamone
English teacher
A passionate and active teacher with experience in different international schools, Gamone joined the LFIR in 2022.
She teaches English to all levels, from preschool to middle school.
Khine Wai Lwin
Myanmar teacher
An experienced and patient teacher of Myanmar and French, Khine has been teaching both languages at the French Institute in Myanmar.
She teaches Myanmar language and culture to all levels, from preschool to middle school.

All our assistant teachers can speak Myanmar, French and English.
Saw Clever Shine
Positive, calm and patient, Clever loves teaching and encouraging children to participate in activities and gradually become independent. Clever joined the LFIR in 2018 and assists in the nursery class.
May Htet Aung
May Htet trained as a teacher of French for children and teenagers with the IFB (French Institute of Myanmar) before joining the LFIR early 2022. She has particularly enjoyed discovering the children’s different personalities, listening to their ideas and seeing them progress together. May Htet assists with the older preschoolers.

Marie-Laure Abel
Secretary
A constant presence at the LFIR since 2009, Marie-Laure has inner knowledge of the school, its history and its vision. She is the first point of contact for families and liaises between all, inside and outside the school.
She is assisted by efficient Wine, an expert in local administration.
Catherine Pirling
Administrative & Financial Director
Catherine recently joined the LFIR, bringing her extensive experience in non-governmental organisations to the school’s department of administration and finance.
She is assisted by conscientious Kywe Kywe.

& Security
The beautiful school grounds are looked after daily by our maintenance team.
A friendly and professional security team keeps the school safe at all times.
