Welcome to the French International School of Yangon Joseph Kessel!
The LFIR, part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network, offers a fully accredited program by the French Ministry of Education, starting from preschool (small section) to CM2. From there, CNED continues up to 4ème (8th grade)
We are proud to be the only AEFE-affiliated school in Myanmar. With over 580 schools across 139 countries, AEFE represents the largest global network of international schools.

LFIR Opens Admissions for 2026–2027
The French International School Yangon (LFIR) is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. The new school year will begin on August 31, 2026, with enrollment open year-round starting now. Families interested in discovering the school are warmly invited to visit the campus and meet the teachers to learn more about LFIR and its educational approach. LFIR End of Year Celebration
The entire LFIR community gathered for a spectacular showcase of talent and togetherness at this year’s year-end show, "The Enchanted Year." The evening was a true celebration of a successful school year. The stage came alive with a diverse lineup such as Kindergarteners charmed the crowd with "Old MacDonald," while older students delivered high-energy K-pop dances, timeless French songs, and collaborative, breathtaking physical acrobatic stunts alongside AES students. College students kept the audience buzzing with an interactive quiz, capping off a vibrant, deeply memorable night that honored our shared achievements.
LFIR Awarding Ceremony
Our campus was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated our end-of-year Award Ceremony! From the strategic minds in our Chess club to the brilliant problem-solvers of the Kangaroo Maths competition, and our green-thumbed Gardening heroes, achievements were recognized across all classes. A special shoutout goes to our wonderful maintenance team member, Ko Michael, for his well-deserved Gardening award! Seeing the pure joy and smiles on everyone's faces was truly magical. Congratulations to all our amazing winners!

What's make LFIR Yangon school different?
Our school is truly international: we welcome students from local, binational and international families, with 15 nationalities currently represented. And thanks to our partnership with AEFE (Association for French Education Abroad), the French curriculum we teach is adapted to this multicultural, multilingual environment.
