Welcome to the French International School of Yangon Joseph Kessel!
The LFIR, part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network, offers a fully accredited program by the French Ministry of Education, starting from preschool (small section) to CM2. From there, CNED continues up to 4ème (8th grade)
We are proud to be the only AEFE-affiliated school in Myanmar. With over 580 schools across 139 countries, AEFE represents the largest global network of international schools.

LFIR Opens Admissions for 2026–2027
The French International School Yangon (LFIR) is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. The new school year will begin on August 31, 2026, with enrollment open year-round starting now. Families interested in discovering the school are warmly invited to visit the campus and meet the teachers to learn more about LFIR and its educational approach. For more information, parents can download the school fees and presentation or contact the school directly from our website.
LFIR Community Takes Action for a Greener Future
Equipped with gloves, litter pickers, and bags, the LFIR community came together to clean the street around the school, helping make the area cleaner and more pleasant for everyone. Students also placed awareness posters to encourage responsible behaviour, while the maintenance team created two protected waste disposal areas. A great example of how small actions and teamwork can make a positive difference for the community. 🌿
LFIR Welcomes Thingyan!
Our campus was buzzing on the last day of school as we celebrated Thingyan, the Myanmar New Year. It was a wonderful sight to see students, parents, and teachers all teaming up to roll Mont Lone Yay Paw. The celebration continued with vibrant music and traditional dancing that brought everyone together. Of course, the highlight for many was the big water splash, which provided a much-needed cooling break from the heat. Getting soaked was the perfect way to wash away the past year and kick off the holidays with a fresh start. Happy Myanmar New Year to our entire school community!

Our school is truly international: we welcome students from local, binational and international families, with 15 nationalities currently represented. And thanks to our partnership with AEFE (Association for French Education Abroad), the French curriculum we teach is adapted to this multicultural, multilingual environment.
