Welcome to the French International School of Yangon Joseph Kessel!
The LFIR, part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network, offers a fully accredited program by the French Ministry of Education, starting from preschool (small section) to CM2. From there, CNED continues up to 4ème (8th grade)
We are proud to be the only AEFE-affiliated school in Myanmar. With over 580 schools across 139 countries, AEFE represents the largest global network of international schools.
Choosing LFIR means choosing a school that values a family-like environment while holding great ambitions. We strive for excellence, not only in welcoming students and families but also in offering a rich and varied educational experience.
Our ambition extends to providing a multicultural environment that enriches students’ perspectives. LFIR Yangon Earns EFE3D Level 1
This year, LFIR Yangon received the EFE3D Level 1 certification! The award recognizes our daily efforts to make sustainability and eco-citizenship part of school life. From simple classroom routines to bigger projects, students and teachers work together to build respect for nature and responsible habits. These small steps add up, and they show how our community is growing toward a greener future. The recognition is a milestone, but more importantly, it’s a reminder that everyone at LFIR has a role to play in caring for the world around us.
LFIR Supports Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
LFIR is supporting the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every September is a time to think about children and young people affected by cancer. Some students joined a card-making activity proposed by the Children Yangon Hospital volunteers : they enjoyed creating heartfelt cards that will be delivered to young patients. A small gesture, but one that carries kindness, support, and awareness. These are also the values promoted by LFIR.
LFIR Activity Hub – AES 1st Term Registration Open!
We’re excited to announce that after-school activities (AES) are now open for registration! With 20+ activities to choose from October 8, 2025 to February 6, 2026. Open to all students (Outside students are welcome). Our program offers Sports, Science, Pottery, Fencing, Coding, Music, Dance, Lego, Arts & Crafts, Flair Bartender, and more. Classes run after school at 3 pm or 4 pm on campus. These activities help children explore new passions while providing parents with convenience and peace of mind. Our school is truly international: we welcome students from local, binational and international families, with 15 nationalities currently represented. And thanks to our partnership with AEFE (Association for French Education Abroad), the French curriculum we teach is adapted to this multicultural, multilingual environment.
