Welcome to the French International School of Yangon Joseph Kessel!
The LFIR, part of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network, offers a fully accredited program by the French Ministry of Education, starting from preschool (small section) to CM2. From there, CNED continues up to 4ème (8th grade)
We are proud to be the only AEFE-affiliated school in Myanmar. With over 580 schools across 139 countries, AEFE represents the largest global network of international schools.
Choosing LFIR means choosing a school that values a family-like environment while holding great ambitions. We strive for excellence, not only in welcoming students and families but also in offering a rich and varied educational experience.
Our ambition extends to providing a multicultural environment that enriches students’ perspectives. A Joyful Start to Term 2 at LFIR
Our students have returned to LFIR with bright smiles and wonderful holiday memories to share. Back in the classroom, they joyfully expressed their December holiday experiences through drawings, storytelling, and engaging activities, reconnecting with friends and teachers in a lively and creative atmosphere. After completing a successful first semester, our students are now refreshed, motivated, and ready to begin Term 2 with confidence and enthusiasm. We look forward to another exciting term of learning, creativity, and growth at LFIR.
AES 2nd Term Registration
Registration for LFIR’s After-School Activities (AES) 2nd Term is now open! With over 20 activities to choose from, children can explore sports, science, arts, technology, music, dance, and more, while discovering new interests and developing their talents in a fun and supportive environment. The programme will run from 23 February to 12 June 2026, with classes held on campus after school at 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm. Open to LFIR students and outside students alike, AES offers a wonderful opportunity for children to learn, create, and grow beyond the classroom.
EFE3D Eco-Delegates in Action
Environmental responsibility is coming to life at LFIR thanks to the enthusiasm of our students. Through regular coordination meetings, eco-delegates transform their ideas into concrete actions that benefit both the school and its surroundings. From colourful mural projects and renewed composting efforts to street clean-ups, plastic bottle cap collections, and gardening initiatives, students are actively involved in planning and carrying out these activities. Working together, these small actions are making a big difference for a greener school community.

Our school is truly international: we welcome students from local, binational and international families, with 15 nationalities currently represented. And thanks to our partnership with AEFE (Association for French Education Abroad), the French curriculum we teach is adapted to this multicultural, multilingual environment.
In addition to the excellent academic knowledge and critical thinking that French education is famous for, our students therefore also develop the language and intercultural skills that are essential in today’s world, preparing them for their international future.
